The ashes of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were immersed in the Yamuna river near Majnu Ka Tila Gurudwara by his family members with Sikh rituals. Singh’s family members collected the ashes from Nigambodh Ghat on Sunday morning and later they were taken to ‘Ashta Ghat’ on the Yamuna river bank near the gurudwara.

Dr. Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur, his three daughters Upinder Singh, Daman Singh and Amrit Singh and other relatives were present at the immersion site. As per Sikh customs, the family will organize ‘Akhand Path’ on January 1 at their official residence on Motilal Nehru Marg.

On January 3, ‘Bhog’ ceremony, ‘Antim Ardas’ and ‘Kirtan’ will be organized at Rakabganj Gurudwara near the Parliament complex.
