Asia Cup 2023, Bangladesh Captain: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan has insisted that Shakib Al Hasan is his preferred candidate for the ODI captaincy in the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup after Tamim Iqbal was ruled out due to a back injury.

Speaking to reporters in Dhaka, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan said, “We haven’t discussed the captaincy yet. We will have to take a break and think about it. He further added, “There are two problems. If we think about the long term, it is one thing. But the World Cup is also round the corner and the pressure of the World Cup is huge.
