In the case of fight between BJP workers and people of Valmiki community at Bannadevi police station in Aligarh on November 2, both the parties have filed a report. From one party, BJP leader Sanju Bajaj has filed a case against 70-80 unknown people including six named people, while from the other party Sunil Kumar has filed a case against 20-25 unknown people including two named people.
The youth of Valmiki community had gone to the shop of a person named Sanjay Gupta in the exhibition ground to buy firecrackers late in the evening on 1 November. There he had a dispute over some issue with Rupendra Rajput, Naveen Rajput etc. associated with BJP. The dispute took the form of a fight. In this both the parties reached the police station. Some leaders of the society and some officials of Bajrang Bal came in support of the youth of Valmiki community. Whereas from the other side, BJP’s Metropolitan Minister Sanju Bajaj came in support of the BJP. There was a conversation between people from both sides in the room of the police station in-charge. Then when the dispute escalated, a fight broke out between the two parties in the police station itself.
On behalf of one party in the case, BJP leader Sanju Bajaj has filed a case against 70-80 unknown persons including Sanjay Gupta, Sunil Chauhan, Naveen Valmiki, Keshav Valmiki, Anand, Akash Valmiki. On the other hand, Sunil Kumar, resident of Siddharth Nagar, Chuharpur, has filed a case against 20-25 unknown people including Sanju Bajaj, Naveen. Both sides have accused each other of threatening to kill. Police station in-charge Bannadevi Pankaj Kumar Mishra says that a case has been registered and investigation is being done.
