Nagpanchami
According to the scriptures, bread should not be made in the kitchen even on the day of Nag Panchami. There is a tradition of eating puri and halwa on this day. Keeping a griddle on the stove is considered inauspicious on the day of Nag Panchami. In the Puranas, the griddle has been considered as the replica of the hood of a snake. That’s why tawa is not kept on the fire on the day of Nagpanchami.
Sheetal Ashtami
Mother Sheetla Devi is worshiped on Sheetla Ashtami. On this day, stale food is offered to Mata Sheetla and after offering it, stale food is also taken. On this day before sunrise, stale food is offered to Mata Sheetla. On this day neither roti nor any fresh food is prepared at home.
Sharad Purnima
According to the scriptures, bread should not be made at home even on the day of Sharad Purnima. It is believed that on this day the moon is proficient in its sixteen arts. On the evening of Sharad Purnima, kheer is made and kept in the moonlight and it is taken as prasad the next morning. That’s why bread is not made on this day also.

According to Hindu religion, if a person dies in the house, then the stove is not lit in the house on that day and bread is not made for thirteen days. Rotis are made in that house only after the thirteenth rites.
