Whenever we see a plane flying in the sky, we try to guess at what height it would be flying. We think that maybe this plane is flying at an altitude of 10 or 15 thousand feet. but it’s not like that. You will be surprised to know that all the passenger planes that fly in the sky… their height is only at an altitude of about 40000 feet or more. Why is it flown, is there any danger if the plane is flown below it. Along with this, one more question that comes to mind… is that even when there is a storm in the sky, does this plane fly at the same height and does the storm not affect the plane.
Why does the plane fly at such a height
There can be many reasons for the plane to fly at such a height. But from a scientific point of view, the biggest reason for flying the plane at such a height is that the air molecules are very dense at this height, along with this the air also becomes thin at this height. In such a situation, the airplane can easily fly in the air with its full potential and the mileage of the plane also increases due to this.
There is no fear of bird collision
One of the major reasons behind flying the plane at such a height is that at this height the risk of birds hitting the plane reduces. Actually, many times big plane accidents have happened due to collision of birds. Many people have lost their lives in these accidents. This is the reason why most pilots fly their planes at an altitude of about 40000 feet. However, the pilot has to take special care of the birds while landing and taking off. Because most of the birds hit the plane during landing and takeoff and crash the plane. There is a storm, but still the plane is flying. Actually this happens because the storm is mostly formed in the clouds and the clouds remain below the height of 40000 feet. That’s why when there is a storm in the sky and there is lightning and yet the plane is flying, it means that the plane is flying over that storm. This is the reason why the plane does not have problems due to the storm.
