Many breeds of horses, donkeys and mules have been brought for buying and selling in this fair. Till a few years ago, elephants, cows, bulls and other animals also used to come to this fair. The Australian horse is attracting the most people in this fair. It has been brought here from Australia via water. His height and physique are also different.
This horse is Piro’s emperor no. W Rai and Chhotu Baba of 1 Farm have brought it from Australia by boat about a month ago. The name of this horse is Chetak. The specialty of this Australian horse is that its eating habits and lifestyle are quite different from other horses. Its height is also about 6-7 feet. Pistachios, almonds and coarse grains are given in its food. This horse is a line breed Thoro breed horse.
22 lakh rupees were spent in bringing it to Bihar
While talking to Local 18, Chhotu Baba told that about Rs 22 lakh has been spent in bringing this horse from Australia. Currently Chetak is about 3 years old. There are always five to six people engaged in the farm to take care of it. The problem with this Australian horse is that it is an English speaking horse. Chhotu Baba says that the purpose of this fair is not to sell the Australian horse, it is just to show this horse to the people.
The fair started from the Mughal period
Nagar Panchayat representative Rakesh Mahato says that this fair started from the Mughal period itself. When horses, mules and donkeys were used as the main vehicles to carry goods. In such a situation, horses, donkeys and mules and animals of different breeds come for sale in this fair. Buyers come from every corner of the country to buy these animals.
