There are still many people in India who do not have a roof to live under. For such people, the Central Government had started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, government assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh is given to the poor, so that they can build their own houses.
Now the Central Government has made a big change in this scheme. Till now one had to apply offline for PM Awas Yojana. Now you can apply for this online also. To simplify the application process of PM Awas Yojana, the Central Government has launched a mobile app, through which you can apply under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana sitting at home.
Through which app will the application be made?
The Central Government has launched ‘Awas Plus 2024’ app for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. You can download this app from Play Store and also apply for PM Awas. Apart from this, every small and big information about the scheme can be easily obtained through the mobile app. All the information from the list of beneficiaries to how to apply is available in this mobile app.
What is the whole process?
After applying through the mobile app, it will be verified by the officials. If you are not eligible then you will be stopped here. If everything is found correct during verification then the process of e-KYC will be started. After its completion your application will be accepted. You will get this information on your mobile app only. That is, after the process is completed, the name of the applicant will be included in the list of beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana.
The scope of the scheme increased
Till now only those people whose monthly income is Rs 10 thousand could apply under PM Awas Yojana. Apart from this, those people who have fridge, bike and mobile were also not included in the scheme. However, this is not the case now. The government has expanded the scope of the scheme. Families whose monthly income is Rs 15000 will be eligible for PM Awas.
