The Ram Janmabhoomi dispute in Ayodhya that went on for centuries has been resolved and a grand temple has taken shape there, but on this very day, in the form of revival of the temple, the statue of Purushottam Lord Ram was first installed in the disputed Babri structure.

Also, worship took place amidst the sounds of bells, gongs and conch shells. At that time only three priests got permission from the administration to perform worship there. According to the news published in the December 30, 1949 issue of Amar Ujala, on the midnight of 22 and 23 December, some priests and people had installed the idol of Lord Ram in the disputed Babri structure in Ayodhya in the form of revival of the temple.

The idol was not removed at that time, but the priests were expelled from there. Armed police guards were placed all around. Due to the closure of puja, Ram became engaged in Bhakti movement. Anticipating the situation getting worse, the then District Magistrate of Faizabad informed the provincial government about the entire incident through telegram.
