Baba Siddique Shot Dead: NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead by unknown assailants on Saturday (October 12) night. Three rounds of bullets were fired at the NCP leader, after which he was admitted to Lilavati Hospital where he died during treatment.
Officials said that after being shot, he was immediately taken to the hospital, however he died during treatment. According to sources, two people have been taken into police custody. It is being told that he was shot near the chest. The incident took place near Colgate grounds in Nirmal Nagar near the office of his son Zeeshan Siddiqui, who is the MLA from Bandra East.
Why did Baba Siddiqui leave Congress and join NCP (Ajit Pawar)?
Mumbai’s famous MLA Baba Siddiqui had a long relationship with Congress and he was a part of this party for about 48 years. Lok Sabha elections Before that, he left Congress and joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP. In Mumbai, he was considered among the big leaders of the minority community.

What did CM Eknath Shinde say?
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde Confirmed on Saturday night that Baba Siddiqui has died. He also said that two of the three accused have been caught, while the third is still absconding.
The Chief Minister said, “Mumbai Police Chief told me that two people have been arrested. One is from UP, the other from Haryana. The third attacker is absconding, but the police is trying to nab him.”
Will Delhi Police also investigate Baba Siddiqui murder case?
An officer said, “Two to three rounds were fired. Further investigation is underway, teams have reached the area.” Sources said that the Special Cell of Delhi Police has also started investigation into the murder of Siddiqui. The Counter Intelligence Unit of Delhi Police, which has worked closely with Mumbai Police in several major operations in the past, has started investigation.

Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey demanded the resignation of Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis over the law and order situation in the state, alleging that there is no fear among criminals. Meanwhile, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya demanded the government to form a special team to investigate the murder and alleged a “conspiracy” behind the murder.
