Baba Siddiqui Murder Case: In the charge sheet filed in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, Mumbai Crime Branch has also revealed the information about the trail of money used for the murder conspiracy. It has been revealed in the charge sheet of the Crime Branch that the maximum funding for the contract of Rs 17 lakh that was given for the murder of Baba Siddiqui came from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

Maximum funding was received from Maharashtra-UP

According to Crime Branch sources, according to the money trail that has emerged during the investigation so far, people associated with Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh deposited money in the accounts opened in Karnataka Bank at the behest of Anmol Bishnoi and Shubham Lonkar.

According to the charge sheet, the responsibility of transferring money was given to Shubham Lonkar in the account which was opened in the name of accused Salman Vohra in Karnataka Bank in Anand, Gujarat. Whereas in Uttar Pradesh, the sleeper cell of Lawrence Bishnoi gang was sending money to the bank accounts of the arrested accused using different CDMs (Cash Deposit Machines).

Money was collected from different parts of the country

An official said that about 60 to 70 percent of the betel nut money given for the murder of Baba Siddiqui was funded from these two states. If sources are to be believed, the entire funding of Rs 17 lakh for betel nut was done from different parts of the country, till now no clue of funding from abroad has been found in the investigation.

Investigation has also revealed that some money in the murder of Baba Siddiqui had also reached the accused through hawala. The crime branch has traced the money trail of funding from Maharashtra through Karnataka bank accounts, but has not yet been able to connect the links of the money trail of funding from UP.
