In view of the large number of devotees coming from Prayagraj Mahakumbh, Sparsh Darshan in Kashi Vishwanath Temple was banned till 26th February. Ten crore devotees are expected to come to Kashi for Mahakumbh. Now only the tableau darshan of Baba Vishwanath will be available during Mahakumbh. The protocol of Mahashivratri and Sawan will be applicable in the temple.

To control the crowd of devotees in Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Sparsh Darshan was banned from the New Year. Now it has been decided to increase it. According to the temple administration, this decision was taken keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the devotees. More than 18 lakh devotees have visited Baba Vishwanath between January 1 and 4.

In 2024, the average number of daily devotees was 1.70 lakh, which has increased to more than two lakh on an average in January 2025.

A divine and grand Mahakumbh will be organized in Prayagraj from 13 January to 26 February. From there a large number of devotees will come to Kashi and have darshan of Baba. Therefore, the period of ban on Sparsh Darshan has been extended.
