After the trailer and teaser of ‘Baby John’, there was a lot of excitement among the fans about this film. Varun Dhawan has done tremendous action in this movie. However, considering the buzz, the beginning of the film has been very cold. Even the Christmas release did not benefit the film. Actually ‘Baby John’ has to compete with 21 day old ‘Pushpa 2’. Baby John has blown away the storm of Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 on its very first day. Interestingly, Pushpa 2 has done more business than the latest release ‘Baby John’ even on the 21st day. Now the initial figures of earnings of Varun Dhawan starrer film have come.

‘Baby John’ has received mixed reviews from the audience
Let us tell you that apart from Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Vamika Gabbi, Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav are also in lead roles in the mass commercial action and Salman Khan has a special cameo in the post-climax scene. An adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil hit Theri, Baby John has received positive to mixed reviews from the audience. While one section has praised Varun’s performance, fast paced storyline and solid action sets, the other section has criticized the film and called it a scene by scene remake of Theri.
The biggest opening of Varun’s career in five years
Of course, the opening of Baby John was not as per expectations but this film is Varun’s biggest opening in the last five years. His 2019 release Kalank, which was a multi-starrer with Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha, earned Rs 21.60 crore on its opening day in 2019. Varun’s last few theatrical releases Street Dancer 3D (2020), Jug Jug Jeeyo (2022), and Bhediya (2022) failed to get double digit openings.
With the festive season starting from Christmas to New Year, it will be interesting to see how Baby John performs at the box office in its extended opening weekend.
