Bakrid 2024: The festival of Eid-ul-Azha (eid al adha 2024) is celebrated on the 10th day of Zul-Hijjah (12th month of the Islamic calendar), 70 days after Eid ul Fitr (EID) i.e. Meethi Eid. - Along with this, an animal which is injured should not be sacrificed. While sacrificing, also keep in mind that the horns and legs of the animal should be intact.
How is sacrifice made
Namaz is offered before sacrificing. The animal and the person sacrificing it should face the Qibla (towards the Kaaba in Mecca, or the house of God). After the sacrifice, the animal is divided into three parts. The first part is kept by the family members, the second part is distributed among the relatives and the third part is given to the poor and the needy.
Who should not offer sacrifice
Only those who are financially rich should offer sacrifice. People who are in debt or financially weak should not offer sacrifice according to Islam.
