An ex-serviceman committed suicide by shooting himself with a licensed gun on Thursday in Amhar Patti Dakshin village of Ballia district. The police started investigating the matter. Ex-serviceman Harindra Singh (60) committed suicide outside the house by shooting himself in the neck with a licensed two-barreled gun. Hearing the sound of the bullet, the daughter-in-law Mamta, who was inside the house, came running out and started crying seeing her unconscious father-in-law covered in blood. People around also reached. Harindra Singh lived in the village with the family.
