On Sunday, three days later, the police disclosed the case of the dead body of a girl found under Gadra Nala bridge located in Murwal village of Baberu Kotwali. The girl was murdered for false honor by her real brother, cousin and maternal uncle by strangulation. The police have arrested the cousin. Brother and uncle are absconding. The accused told that the girl was in a love affair with a married man. That’s why he was murdered.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shivraj said on Sunday that the body of Aarti Singh (20), resident of Bajaha Purva of Marka police station area, was found under the bridge of Gadra drain on December 19. On the basis of the mobile number, the police arrested the girl’s cousin brother Shivpratap Singh alias Chhotu, resident of Mahewaghat Adhaan village of Kaushambi district. During interrogation, accused Chhotu told that Aarti was his cousin sister. She had a love affair with a married young man. The family members opposed this, but she was not agreeing.
Chhotu told that as part of a conspiracy, Aarti was strangled to death by bringing her to the Simonidham fair on the night of 18th December and the body was thrown under the Gadra Nala bridge. Aarti’s brother Udaybhan alias Pradeep and Purab Sharira’s maternal uncle Bhujbal, resident of Kaushambi, were also involved in the incident. Both are absconding. Inspector Crime Baberu Kotwali Shivshankar Yadav and Constable Rahul Sahu were included in the arrest team.
