Muhammad Yunus Advice to Army: Relations between Bangladesh and India have been derailed since August last year. Bangladesh continuously makes statements that make India uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the country’s chief advisor has become so nervous that he is asking his army to prepare for war.
Chief Advisor Professor Mohammad Yunus has said that army personnel should always be ready for war to protect the sovereignty of the country. He was speaking after witnessing the Army Exercise 2024-25 conducted by the Army’s 55 Infantry Division at the Rajbari Military Training Area today, Bangladesh’s Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) said in a press release.
‘Army soldiers should always be updated’
Yunus said, “The Bangladesh Army is a place of pride and confidence for the nation. To fulfill its pledge, the members of the army must always be combat ready to protect the sovereignty of the country.” He advised the Bangladeshi Army soldiers to become proficient in new technology and training. The Chief Advisor also said, “The training of military personnel should be realistic to acquire operational skills, bravery and professionalism.”
Flames of tension between India and Bangladesh
After Sheikh Hasina left the post of Prime Minister in August 2024, relations between India and Bangladesh gradually derailed. The new interim government of Bangladesh took many such steps against India which made India uncomfortable. However, despite this, India helped Bangladesh. During this period, the government of Mohammad Yunus also maintained silence regarding the violence against minorities in the country. After this the relations between India and Bangladesh started deteriorating.
