BNP Leader Burn Indian Textile: Amid tensions between India and Bangladesh, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of Bangladesh’s main opposition party BNP, publicly burnt a bedsheet made in India as a symbolic protest. BNP politician Ruhul Kabir Rizvi set fire to a bedsheet made in Jaipur, Rajasthan, during a ‘Boycott of Indian Products’ program in Rajshahi city on Tuesday (December 10).

Showing that printed bedsheet to the people, the BNP leader said, “This bedsheet is made in Jaipur, India, which is the capital of Rajasthan. This bedsheet is made by Jaipur Textile. We are doing this in protest against the Indian aggression.”

After this he threw the bedsheet on the road and asked his party workers to burn the bedsheet. BNP workers then poured kerosene on the bedsheet and set it on fire. During this, he was also seen kicking the bedsheet. At the same time, the crowd present during this time was raising slogans against India.

Indian products are friends with Sheikh Hasina- Rizvi

After setting the bedsheet on fire, Rizvi said, “We are boycotting Indian products because they are not good for the people of this country. Their friendship is only with Sheikh Hasina.” However, this is not the first time that Rizvi has boycotted Indian products. Last week, while addressing a gathering in Dhaka on Thursday (December 5), he set his wife’s saree made in India on fire.

During this time he had said, “This is an Indian saree. It belonged to my wife and she gave it to me for this reason. Today I am throwing it in front of you.” Even before this, in the month of March, he had thrown away an Indian shawl which he was wearing as part of a protest.
