Chinmoy Krishna Das Bail Plea Hearing: Today (3 December 2024) is a very important day for the Hindus facing violence in Bangladesh. Today there will be a hearing on the bail plea of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, who raised his voice against the atrocities on Hindus.

Chittagong court had refused to grant bail
Chinmoy Krishna Das, associated with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), who faces several charges, was produced before the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chittagong, Bangladesh after his arrest. A Chittagong court had refused to grant him bail and sent him to jail, after which protests by his supporters have continued.
Bank accounts of many people associated with ISKCON are frozen
According to Mofizur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, today’s hearing will be conducted by Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Saiful Islam. Bangladesh Samhita Sanatani Jagran Jote spokesperson Chinmoy Das is mainly accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally of Hindu community in New Market area of Chittagong. Regarding this, on October 30, a case of treason was registered against 19 people including Das at Kotwali police station in Chittagong. Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested on 25 November 2024. Since then the Bangladesh government is continuously taking action. The government there had ordered to freeze the bank accounts of 17 people associated with ISKCON for 30 days.
Chinmoy Krishna Das’s lawyer’s condition critical
Before the hearing, ISKCON spokesperson Radharaman Das claimed on Monday that lawyer Raman Roy, who defended spiritual leader Chinmay Das in Bangladesh, has been brutally attacked and his condition is very serious. He is admitted in ICU. According to Das, radicals entered Roy’s house, vandalized it and attacked him. He said that Roy’s only fault was that he had defended Chinmoy Krishna Das in the court.
