In Bareilly, to fulfill his passion for drug addiction and to meet the expenses of his girlfriend, LLB student Utkarsh Saxena, son of a lawyer, formed a gang of diesel thieves. Izzatnagar police station arrested him along with the luxury car, while his two friends absconded. The three youths used to steal diesel from trucks parked on the highway side.
In the districts of Bareilly zone, there were incidents of theft of diesel from trucks parked on the highway side and at dhabas. In the early hours of Tuesday, Izzatnagar police station arrested Utkarsh Saxena, a resident of Civil Lines, who was trying to steal diesel near Vilaydham.
Utkarsh’s associates Taslim Khan alias Munna, resident of Rabri Tola, and Nadeem, resident of Faik Enclave Ashiana, escaped. Utkarsh told that the three people used to form a gang and go out in a luxury car at night and steal diesel through pipes by breaking the tank lids of trucks parked on the highway side. During this time, other members of the gang stood nearby and kept watch.
When the truck driver came, they used to drive him away by threatening him with weapons. After theft, diesel was sold in the rural areas. Izzatnagar police has registered a case against all three. Police have recovered a Honda City car, three cans, a can filled with 10 liters of diesel and two mobiles.
