Be careful if you eat red meat, it can cause amnesia, research reveals

Red Meat Side Effects : Red meat eaters should be careful. Eating burgers, pizzas or sandwiches made from processed red meat is dangerous. Recently, a research has revealed something shocking. It has been told that eating red meat can cause dementia, a disease of memory loss. This research of Alzheimer’s Association International Conference told that the risk of dementia is very high in those who eat more processed red meat. Know what is the connection between red meat and dementia…

Why eating red meat is causing dementia

According to experts, there may be a link between processed red meat and dementia. Things like sausages and bacon contain a lot of fat and cholesterol, which if consumed in excess can lead to the accumulation of cholesterol plaques in the arteries. This can cause atherosclerosis, a narrowing of the arteries, and the blood supply to the brain can be affected. This prevents the brain cells from getting oxygen and adequate nutrition, which can increase the risk of dementia.

How much higher is the risk of dementia from eating red meat

More than 130,000 people were included in this research. It was found that those who ate processed meat daily had a 14% higher risk of dementia. Whereas those who ate nuts every day had a 20 percent lower risk of this disease.

There is also a risk of these dangerous diseases from red meat

Eating red meat can also cause dangerous diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease and stroke. It can also damage blood veins and cause swelling in many parts of the body. Chronic inflammation and damage to blood veins can cause dementia.

According to experts, when meat is cooked using methods like grilling, frying or broiling, dangerous chemicals like heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are formed, which can cause oxidative stress and inflammation in the brain. This damages cells and causes rapid aging of the brain. This can increase the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia.

How to prevent dementia

This research suggests that if nuts and legumes are consumed daily instead of processed red meat, the risk of dementia can be reduced. Both of these contain important nutrients and antioxidants, which help in improving brain health.
