According to a report in India Today, the family said that their child was beaten, tortured and locked in a room by Ramakrishna Ashram in-charge Venugopal and his associates for allegedly stealing a pen.
Police registered a case
The police have registered a case against the accused in this case. The child has been identified as Tarun Kumar. Tarun told that his teacher and two other students beat him with a stick. When the stick broke, he was beaten with a bat. This has also left injury marks on his body.
The child said, they took me to the railway station to beg. But I did not get a single rupee. After this, they beat me with a pen. Due to the beating, the child’s eye has swollen and there are many injury marks on his body. The child has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Tarun studies while staying in the ashram due to financial problems. His mother came to know about this incident when she went to the ashram to meet her son. During this, Tarun’s elder brother Arun told his mother the entire incident. The mother also denied the allegations of pen theft against Tarun. She said that he had just picked up a fallen pen. This pen belonged to the teacher of the ashram. When the teacher saw this pen with Tarun, he got angry.
