Bengaluru Woman Files Case Against Apple Company By Spilling Coffee On 13 Inch MacBook Pro Worth Rs 2 Lakh


Apple: There has been a dispute between a woman living in Bengaluru and using Apple’s MacBook and the Apple company. Actually, this woman accidentally spilled coffee on her Apple MacBook and later filed a lawsuit against the company.

The woman did not blame Apple for spilling coffee on her MacBook, rather the woman filed a case against the Apple company because even after having the membership of Apple Care Plus, the woman had to spend money to repair the MacBook which was damaged due to spilling of coffee. Read. However, the woman lost the case because Apple proved in court that the terms of her Apple Care+ did not cover the device being damaged by any liquid.

Spent around Rs 2 lakh for MacBook

According to a Times of India report, the 31-year-old woman had bought herself a 13-inch MacBook Pro laptop by spending Rs 1,74,307 and had also spent an additional Rs 22,900 on Apple Care Plus membership so that she could get any maintenance done with the MacBook. If the incident occurs, it can be rectified. In this insurance of Apple for Apple devices, it was claimed to cover many types of accidental damages.

Just days after purchasing a MacBook Pro by spending nearly Rs 2 lakh, a woman accidentally spilled her coffee cup on the keyboard, resulting in her laptop shutting down suddenly. Panicked, she immediately went to the Apple store and lodged a complaint, but they did not fix the woman’s MacBook and returned it to her. After being disappointed with the reactions of the Apple Store employees, the woman filed a complaint in the consumer court against Apple India Pvt Ltd, iCare Ample Technologies and Imagine Store.

According to Apple, every MacBook comes with 1 year of hardware repair coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary technical support through its limited warranty. An Apple Care Plus membership extends your device’s coverage to three years, including accidental damage protection against a list of unlimited incidents. However, every time the screen gets damaged in any such accident, a service fee of Rs 8,900 has to be paid and for any other accidental damage, a service fee of Rs 25,900 has to be paid.
