In Bettiah, Bihar, a young man who was a brother-in-law in relation raped a woman by gagging her. The incident took place in a village in Shikarpur police station area of the district. It is being told that the rape was committed by entering the victim’s house. As soon as the information of this incident was received, the police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused youth.
According to the information, the victim’s husband has gone to Kashmir to earn money. Here, the woman has built her own house in Narkatiaganj and is raising her children. The victim told that on May 28, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, her brother-in-law Shamshul Alam, a resident of Block Road Barwa village, entered her house. After that, he tried to have sex with her forcibly. When the woman protested, he gagged her and raped her. However, during this time, the woman’s sister made a video of the rape incident. After raping her, the accused fled from there threatening to kill her.
The victim woman has lodged an FIR in Shikarpur police station regarding this matter. The victim woman told the police in her application that her house is in a village in Gaunaha police station area. She complained about this to her sister-in-law. After that, the sister-in-law and her husband started procrastinating by saying that they will hold a panchayat in the matter.
The victim woman also told in the FIR that her husband’s brother-in-law Vipat Sheikh also forcibly had physical relations with her by taking advantage of her husband being away. He used to come to the house regularly and seeing her alone, he used to forcibly have physical relations with her. But due to social stigma, she could not tell anything to her family members. Here, when Shamshul raped her and this matter reached brother-in-law Vipat, then he, fearing that his secret would be exposed, kept postponing the matter for four days by saying that he would hold a panchayat. When the victim woman got suspicious, she reached the police station and lodged a complaint.
SHO Avnish Kumar said that four people have been made accused in the case. Shamshul Alam has been arrested and sent to jail for rape. Raids are being conducted to arrest other accused. The victim has been sent to Bettiah for statement and medical examination. Police is investigating the case thoroughly. The accused will not be spared under any circumstances. They will have to face police action under any circumstances.
