An attempt has been made to rape a minor girl who had gone out of her house to throw garbage in Bettiah, Bihar. It is being told that due to commotion, family members and villagers caught hold of the accused and beat him severely, due to which he got injured. However, the police arrested the accused with the help of the villagers. The incident took place in a village under Ramnagar police station area of Bagaha police district.
According to the information, the girl was going out of her house to the river bank to throw away the garbage of her house. Then a miscreant from the village caught her and tried to rape her. During this time, when the girl started screaming, nearby people and family members reached the spot. Seeing the crowd of people gathering, the accused started running away. But the victim’s brother and the villagers caught the accused and beat him severely, due to which the accused got injured.
Here, Ramnagar police station incharge Anant Ram said that an FIR has been registered on the application of the victim’s brother. The accused has been identified as Raju Mahato, resident of Ward No. 5 Dhangad Toli. A case has been registered against him under the POCSO Act, he is being arrested and sent to jail. The police is busy taking further action in the case.
After this incident, the girl’s brother took the injured accused to Ramnagar PHC for treatment, where he was treated. After getting information about the incident, the family members of the accused also reached the hospital, where a fight broke out between the two parties. Seeing the matter worsening, the doctor informed the Ramnagar police station. Ramnagar police station reached the spot, convinced both the parties and took the accused youth to the police station. Here, on the application of the victim’s brother, the police registered an FIR and arrested the accused. Preparations are being made to send him to jail.
