PAN card is an important document. This document issued by the Income Tax Department is used in almost every scheme related to money. That’s why scammers also keep an eye on this. Scammers are luring people to download e-PAN card by sending emails. If you have also received such an email, then you need to be alert. It has been told by the government that scammers are sending emails asking to download e-PAN, which is completely fake. We need to be careful of this.
Government said- do not reply to such emails
While sharing the screenshot of one such fake email, the government has said that it is completely fake and do not respond to any such email. The government has advised people to be cautious of any such emails, phone calls, SMS and links asking for financial and sensitive information.

How to avoid such scams?
If someone tries to redirect you to the Income Tax Department website by impersonating an Income Tax officer or through any email, then follow these precautions-
– Do not respond to suspicious emails.
– Do not open any attachment received in the email because it may contain malware, which can steal important information.
– Do not click on suspicious links and do not give any sensitive information like bank details.
– To avoid such fraudulent activities, keep updating your device.
– In case of fraud, immediately report the matter to Cyber Police and National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
