Mangoes are being sold in abundance in the markets of Chennai and Orissa. In which Brinjal Phuli, Totapari, Gulab Khas and Dussehri Mango are there. Due to the taste of these mangoes not being pleasant, most of the shopkeepers use this mango to make juice. According to quality and quantity, their prices in the markets range from Rs 50 per kg to Rs 100 per kg. People of Gaya like Dudhiya Maldah mango of Bhagalpur, but this mango is expected to arrive in the markets after May 20.
Mahtab Alam, vice president of Gaya-based Kedarnath Market Fruit and Vegetable Vendors Association, says that this time the mango production is not good. Due to which there will be a rise in the rate of Maldah mango also. It is expected that in the initial phase it will be sold in the general market for Rs 100 per kg. Apart from this, mangoes of other states Bengal, Jharkhand, UP and Mumbai will start being available in Gaya markets from May 10. Currently, mangoes are coming to the markets of Gaya from South India including Vijayawada and Orissa in Andhra Pradesh. In this, Gulab Khas and Dussehri mango are considered to be of the best quality.
Bhagalpuri Maldah is the first choice of people
Mahtab Alam, Vice President of Gaya-based Kedarnath Market Fruit and Vegetable Vendors Association, says that brinjal pod is very much liked like Badami mango and PM mango. Mangoes of South India are being sold at wholesale price of Rs 35-45 per kg whereas the wholesale price of Dussehri mango of Orissa is Rs 50-60 per kg. He told that after May 20, Bihari milky Maldah mangoes are expected to arrive in the markets of Gaya. There is not much demand for mangoes from South India here and people like Maldah mangoes. Most of the shopkeepers of South India use mangoes for making juice. This time the production of Bhagalpuri Maldah mango is half due to which its price is also expected to be higher.
