NSD Director Dr. Ramesh Chandra Gaur announced the organization of 22nd Bharat Rang Mahotsav on Monday. NSD had organized a media interaction for this in the campus located at Mandi House. He said that 960 plays were submitted for Bharangam from all over the world, out of which more than 80 plays have been selected for staging. Its list will be shared soon. Several plays will be staged in regional languages. It will also include public performances, book releases, national and international seminars, living legends, master classes, meet the director and other events.

He told that this year the aim of Bharangam is to enrich the country on the global stage through India’s cultural wealth and theatre. Not only the artistes, but well-known color directors of the country will also participate in it. The Bharat Rang Mahotsav will be a grand extravaganza of plays and cultural exhibitions, with several thematic panel discussions on the humanitarian and strategic importance of theater in a global context. 10 traditional exhibitions will be organized at NSD Delhi campus. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Gaur said that the effort is to involve more and more young theater lovers in this event. During this, Associate Professor Shantanu Bose and Repertory Chief Rajesh Singh were also present.

It may be noted that the National School of Drama had organized the Bharat Rang Mahotsav in July under the Azadi series of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. In this program, soulful tribute was paid to the brave martyr sons of Mother India by remembering them. On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the NSD Repertory Company performed Kargil: Ek Shaurya Gatha at the National War Memorial site on 25 July. NSD will continue its activities in this sequence.
