At a distance of about 45 kilometers from Bharatpur, the famous Vakil’s Kalakand is made in earnest, which is better and more delicious to eat than the common Kalakand. This Kalakand is famous by the name of Vakil which is made in a small shop.

Kalakand makers say that people come from far and wide to eat this Kalakand. Apart from this, people of different districts including Bharatpur, Dholpur Karauli like this Kalakand very much. Kalakand making lawyers say. That it has been a long time since they started setting up this shop. Earlier, this shop was run by his elder brother but after his elder brother passed away, he took over the work. The lawyer says that it takes a lot of hard work and time to make this Kalakand.

Lawyers say that to make Kalakand, pure buffalo milk is first taken. After that the milk is poured into big pans and the milk is cooked thoroughly in the pans, until it becomes khoya. After making khoya, small amount of sugar is added to the milk. After adding sugar, both are mixed well.

50 kilos are sold daily
After mixing, it is kept in a tray for about 12 to 13 hours to freeze using its secret methods. When it solidifies well after 12 to 13 hours, then small pieces of Kalakand are cut and sent to the market. The lawyer says that about 50 kg of Kalakand is sold daily from our place and today the rate of this Kalakand is Rs 350 per kg.
