Bharti Singh on her poverty: Comedian Bharti Singh, popularly known as Laughter Queen, may be a popular name in the entertainment industry today, but there was a time when she used to be very poor. Sometimes she longed for every morsel. Recently, the comedian spoke about his poverty and how he traveled from Punjab to Mumbai.

Recently, Bharti Singh recalled her childhood days in Neena Gupta’s podcast. She told that she was only 2 years old when her father died. Siblings also used to work in a factory sewing blankets. Mother used to work from house to house. There was so much poverty at that time that when his mother used to bring leftover food after working from house to house, it was fresh food for him.
Bharti Singh yearns for every morsel
Bharti said, “I cannot tell how much poverty I have seen. If I used to see people throwing half-eaten apples, I would think that person would be cursed for wasting food. I used to even think of picking it up and eating it. There was a lot of hunger and poverty at that time. I used to get sad during festivals. When mother used to bring a box of sweets from work, Lakshmi Puja used to be held in our house. Today I tell my mother that whatever I have earned is only because of you. I love my mother more than I love my 10-month-old son.”
Today Bharti is the mistress of so many crores.
Bharti Singh told that she was able to enter the industry because of Sudesh Lahiri and Kapil Sharma. Sudesh Lahiri gave him an opportunity to perform comedy at the National Youth Festival and Kapil Sharma suggested him to perform in a comedy show. Today Bharti Singh is not only a comedian, but also a host and producer. Bharti Singh’s total assets are said to be Rs 23 crore.
