After a wait of two and a half months, BHU has released the bulletin for PhD admission in the session 2024-25. Online applications for 1540 seats in 140 subjects have started from Monday. The last date of application is 21 January. General, EWS and OBC candidates will have to pay Rs 600 and AC and ST candidates will have to pay Rs 300 online to fill the form. Candidates will be able to make payment through credit and debit cards.

The details of department wise seats in two categories RET and RET exempted have been released. This year and current session JRF qualified candidates can apply. Candidates qualified for NET and PhD will be given admission under RET. Candidates who appeared for NET exam can apply in the advertisement of 24th June. Document verification and interviews will take place for 16 days between January 27 and February 12.
The result will be declared on 15th February. The admission process will be completed by March 5. The admission process will be closed on March 6. Research students and students who have got admission in PhD on March 17 will have to report to the departments. Maximum 75 seats have been given to the Physics Department. Chemistry Department has got 70 seats, Education Faculty has got 52 seats, History Department has got 43 seats and Geography has got 38 seats. There will be admission on 10 seats in Journalism Department. Admission will be done on 124 seats of the four affiliated colleges of BHU.
BHU has entered into an MoU with NTA. Under this, NTA has sent the data of candidates qualified for NET-JRF and PhD to BHU. When candidates fill the PhD form, their score will be filled automatically. This data has been fed in the form itself. With this, no candidate will be able to fill wrong NET-JRF score in the form and fraud will be stopped.
