Budhha Mangal 2024: Bada Mangal is called every Tuesday of Jyeshtha month. This day is considered most beneficial for the worship of Lord Hanuman in Jyeshtha month and all the Tuesdays falling in this month are considered auspicious.
Why is Jyeshtha Tuesday called Bada Mangal? (Jyeshtha Tuesday why is called Bada Mangal)
According to Swami Anjani Nandan Das, this tradition started in Lucknow and various states of North India. It is believed that Lord Ram met Hanuman near Pampa Sarovar on Jyeshtha Tuesday. We get half proof of this in Abd Ramayana (a small cut of which is mentioned in Ramayana issue) which author Shriyut ji has told through his article in Ramayana issue. Abd Ramayana was written by Shri Giridhar ji in which he has mentioned the dates of events of Ramayana in detail. Although he did not mention Tuesday, but he has said that Shri Ram and Hanuman ji met in Jyeshtha month Shukla Paksha.
Tuesday must have been chosen because Hanumanji is the presiding deity of Tuesday and all Tuesdays are auspicious for him and he was also born on Tuesday. “Hanumadupasana Kalpadrum” There is also evidence of birth on Tuesday, the verses are as follows-
In the month of Chaitra, on the other hand, in the full moon night, Kujehani is celebrated. With the mauṇjimekhālāya attached, the loincloth is worn. The nine months old son is blessed with a good son.
Meaning: It is written that Hanumanji was born on Chaitra Shukla Purnima, Tuesday, wearing a girdle of Munj grass, a loincloth and adorned with sacred thread.
Today, on Bada Mangal or Budhwa Mangal, offer oil to Hanuman ji and recite Hanuman Chalisa. If you have the ability, get Sundarkand recited at your home so that Hanuman ji’s blessings always remain in your home.
