A detainee of Sonavarsha police station area of Saharsa district, imprisoned in Khagaria Mandal Jail, beat up another detainee. The incident is of late Monday night. The police is engaged in the process of conducting the post-mortem of the dead body. The jail administration has confirmed the death of the prisoner inside the jail. The deceased has been identified as Rajan Kumar, 28, son of Nandkishore Singh, a resident of Banni Basa village under Sonvarsha Raj police station area of Saharsa district.
Chitragupt Nagar police station chief Sanjeev Kumar, who reached the post-mortem of the dead body on Tuesday morning, said that the deceased was accused in the case of robbery and snatching in the Beldaur police station area of Rajan district. In this case, he was lodged in Mandal Jail Khagaria.

Told that there was a fight between jailed Rajan Kumar and Janardhan Chowdhary’s son Pramod Chowdhary over some issue. The matter escalated to such an extent that a prisoner named Pramod Chaudhary thrashed Rajan fiercely.
