A teenage girl committed suicide by hanging herself in Nalanda, Bihar on Monday night. The matter is of Sorhadih village under Telmar police station area. The deceased has been identified as Sweety Kumari (14), daughter of Manoj Kumar, resident of Etnawa village in Patna district. Presently Sweety was living at her maternal home in Sorhadih village of Telmar.
Sweety Kumari’s maternal grandfather Ramkhelavan Ravidas told that Sweety’s mother had scolded him. Hurt by this, she committed suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta near the stairs. Everyone in the house was sleeping at the time of the incident. His mother had gone to sing songs at a wedding in the neighborhood.
According to the information, the food prepared by Sweety at home on Monday evening was not cooked properly. Because of this his mother reprimanded him. When her mother went to sing in the neighborhood, an angry Sweety took the opportunity and committed suicide. His two sisters, a brother and maternal grandfather were sleeping at the time of the incident. The incident came to light when Sweety’s elder sister got up to defecate. It is being told that the girl’s father lives outside and works as a labourer. After getting information about the incident, he is also returning from the state. Sweety was living with her parents and siblings in her maternal home for 10 years.
Meanwhile, Telmar Police Station President Shatrughan Shah said that after receiving information about the girl’s death, the police reached the spot, where it was seen that a scarf was wrapped around her neck. The family members told that his mother had scolded him, due to which he committed suicide by hanging himself. The body has been taken into custody and sent to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Further action will be taken upon receipt of the application. The police have been involved in the investigation of the case.
