On the night of 15 November 2005, Naxalites attacked and carried out the Jail break in Jehanabad, but what happened in Aurangabad after 19 years was an amazing game. It so happened that neither the exact date of the incident is known nor any clue has been found about the culprits. Despite this, the police is shooting arrows in the dark. The surprising thing is that despite such a big incident, the prisoners did not escape from here because the matter is something different. In fact, the criminals not only burnt the jail gate but also made goods worth lakhs missing and damaged in bulk. Not only this, due to the negligence of the jail administration, the country’s honour, pride and tricolor flag has also been insulted. The surprising thing is that till yesterday even the jail administration was not aware of this. But, as soon as it came to light through the media, the jail administration lodged an FIR in the Aurangabad Nagar police station. Unknown criminals were made accused.
The matter is of old Aurangabad divisional jail.
Actually, the matter is of Aurangabad Divisional Jail. Earlier the capacity of Mandal Jail was about four hundred prisoners. There used to be prisoners of about four times the capacity. Therefore, when necessary, a new building of Mandal Jail was built in a big complex next to Aurangabad Muffasil Police Station. After the construction of the building, all the prisoners, jail police and officers shifted there on 1 May 2023. Even after shifting, the old Mandal Jail building remained under the control of the jail administration. After taking control of the old building, the jail administration kept the police deployed for some time but due to shortage of personnel in the jail, they were called back. Hence the old jail became deserted. After desecrating the jail, the jail administration relieved Aurangabad Nagar police station of the security of the old jail premises by giving them the responsibility of keeping an eye on the jail premises during night patrolling.
