Begusarai police with the help of STF has today arrested notorious criminal Pawan alias Buggi Thakur with reward of fifty thousand from Mohali in Punjab. In 2016, Buggi Thakur, including his master of the crime world, was absconding in eight cases including six murders, on which the administration had declared a reward of Rs 50,000.
Begusarai SP Yogendra Kumar said that on February 2, Parna Panchayat chief Virendra Sharma of Neema Chandpura police station area was shot dead in broad daylight. After the name of Buggi Thakur surfaced as the shooter in this case, the STF and the district police were continuously working in action mode to arrest this infamous criminal who had been declared a reward of Rs 50,000.

Despite this, Bihar Police Headquarters announced a reward of 50 thousand on this most wanted betel nut killer in June 2022 for not getting success. Since then, continuous efforts were being made by the Police Headquarters to arrest Buggi Thakur, who was included in the absconder list.

After the murder of Parna chief Virendra Sharma on February 2, 2023, Buggi Thakur was identified as the conspirator and the shooter on the input received from the criminals and since then the district police and the special police team were continuously following him.
