Retired teacher Maheshari Prasad Yadav, father of the deceased Shashi Yadav, has given an application to the Education Minister demanding a high-level inquiry into the matter.

On January 27, teacher Shashi Yadav was standing with his friend near Shivpuri Dhala of Sadar police station area. Then the police number 112 vehicle was passing from there. There the police got into an argument with teacher Shashi Yadav about something and in the same sequence the police made Shashi Yadav sit in the car. The local people informed about this to the relatives. As soon as the information was received, the relatives reached Sadar police station but Shashi Yadav was not at the police station. On enquiry, the policemen told that Shashi Yadav is being treated at Sadar Hospital. On hearing this, the family members got scared and rushed to the hospital where Shashi Yadav was lying unconscious.

On being asked by the family members, the policemen told that Shashi was in an inebriated state and unnecessarily got entangled with the police, due to which the police caught him. While being brought to the police station, Shashi jumped from the vehicle due to which he had to be brought to Sadar Hospital in an injured condition.

Seeing the critical condition of Shashi Yadav, doctors referred him to Patna where he died on January 29 during treatment.

Family accused the police of murder

Regarding this matter, the relatives have given an application to Sadar police station, Saharsa SP and DIG and demanded an inquiry. Relatives say that the police deliberately caught and beat teacher Shashi Yadav to death. On February 8, RJD leaders and workers had also taken out a candle march in Saharsa in support of late Shashi Yadav.

Education Minister Professor Chandrashekhar Yadav said that whatever information has been received from the family members and what has been told by the well-wishers, it is a matter of serious investigation. Who is guilty in this matter will be clear only after investigation. By the way, there will be a high-level inquiry into the matter. The government is fully committed for this. Whether it is an incident or an accident or it has been done, it will be known when there is a clear investigation. He also said that I will speak above. Regarding the action against the police, he said that if the report comes after the investigation, action will definitely be taken. He said that I will take the initiative to get the inquiry done.
