Darbhanga DM has made arrangements for food for the people stranded in the areas surrounded by flood waters in Darbhanga district by running community kitchens at 39 places in all four blocks. DM said that four blocks of Darbhanga have been affected by floods. For their convenience, arrangements for electricity from generators have been made at the dam where there is no electricity coming from the generator. Solar lights are being installed on electric poles there. In the flood affected area, two thousand food packets have been dropped in Kiratpur block by Air Force helicopter. Now there is no need to rescue any person.

On the instructions of the DM, District Education Officer Samar Bahadur Singh has directed to close a total of 107 schools in the four flood affected blocks of Kiratpur, Ghanshyampur, Biraul and Kusheshwarsthan areas. Let us tell you that due to the increase in the flood in Kamala Balan river along with Kosi river in the district, water is flowing above the windows of schools in the flood affected areas while the route leading to the school is not visible.

District Education Officer said that 54 schools of flood affected Kiratpur block area, 36 of Kusheshwarsthan East block, 18 of Ghanshyampur block, 06 of Gauda Bauram block, 01 of Tardih block and 01 of Biraul block were closed till further orders.
