The food and snacks provided to about 600 patients treated in DMCH, which is called the lifeline of North Bihar, can be stopped by Jeevika Didis at any time. We are not saying this, the District Program Officer of Swajan Didi Rasoi told that due to the negligence of DMCH and Health Department, the organization has not been paid since seven months i.e. July 2023. Due to this, there is difficulty in arranging food for the patients. He has clearly said that if the payment is not made immediately, Jeevika Didi’s kitchen will come to a standstill.
According to the information, about 600 patients treated in DMCH are provided food day and night including morning breakfast through Didi Rasoi. Bills are not being paid to this institution for about seven months. The organization has corresponded several times with the Health Department and DMCH regarding payment. But till now no concrete result has been achieved regarding payment, due to which the payment of Jeevika Didis working in this organization is also pending for a long time.
In this regard, District Program Officer of Jeevika, Dr. Richa Gargi said that due to the negligence of the Health Department and DMCH, the organization has not been paid for the last seven months. We have sent reminders to the department several times through letters requesting for payment. But the payment has not been made yet, due to which there is a lot of difficulty in paying the food of the patients and the salaries of the working sisters. He told that earlier also such problem had arisen and the payment was made only after a lot of correspondence and intervention by the administration.
Regarding this matter, DMCH Deputy Superintendent Dr. Harendra Kumar told that earlier the payment for Jeevika Didi’s kitchen was made by the Health Department. But now these have to be paid by DMCH. But due to lack of clear instructions from the department, the file is stalled. Payment will be made as soon as departmental instructions are received.
