BSP jawans have recovered 15 gold biscuits by raiding the Indo-Bangladesh border in Kishanganj. Also a smuggler has been arrested. During interrogation, he told that he was bringing gold biscuits from Bangladesh. From Trimohni resident Shankar Saha and Sagar Mandal had to deliver the gold. Meanwhile, the jawans of the 61st battalion of BSP arrested him during the national patrol.
Smuggler of Dinajpur district of Bangladesh gave gold
The smuggler said that Istiaq, a resident of Baghmara village in Dinajpur district of Bangladesh, had given him the biscuit. The smuggler has been identified as Manjurul Sheikh alias Munna father Younis Sheikh, 23, resident of Haripokhar village in Bengal. BSF says that a bike rider was seen coming during the night patrol on the border. When the security personnel tried to stop him, he started running. He started trying to run away. After this he was chased and caught. During the search, 15 gold biscuits were recovered from him. Their cost is around one crore rupees. The smuggler has been handed over to the Bengal Customs along with the biscuits.
Gold worth Rs 2.57 crore recovered from pond in Bengal
Here, on Monday, BSF raided Kalyani Chowki area of Nadia district of West Bengal and recovered gold biscuits worth Rs 2.57 crore from the pond. According to BSF, on the basis of secret information, a search operation was conducted in the pond after reaching the spot. During the search operation, 40 gold biscuits were recovered from the pond. The market value of the recovered gold is around Rs 2.57 crore.
