In the case of Indian youths being held hostage in a Cambodian company, the Indian Embassy Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with the help of Cambodian authorities, has secured the release of 14 Indian nationals trapped in the cyber crime scam. Now the Cambodian side is taking care of them. The Embassy is making efforts for their return to India.

More than ten youths including Bhola Chauhan, a resident of Thawe in Gopalganj district, were held hostage by a company in Cambodia. Apart from Bhola Chauhan, about 10 to 12 youths from UP and Bihar were held hostage there. These youths were sent to Cambodia by the agent on the pretext of working in a call center and getting them a job as a data entry operator. These hostage youths had sent their video message and appealed to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to return to their country.

Jhoolan Prasad, a relative of Bhola Chauhan, who lives in Chanawe of Thawe block of Gopalganj district, said that his relative Bhola Chauhan was sent to Cambodia one and a half months ago. He said that agent Rohit Chauhan, a resident of Tarwara of Siwan, took lakhs of rupees from his relative and sent him to Cambodia on the pretext of working as a data entry operator and in a call center. But there the company held him hostage.

Apart from Bhola Chauhan, more than ten youths from Bihar and UP were held hostage here. These youths were locked in a room. The victim youths sent video messages requesting to return to their country. In the video messages, the victim youths told that they were called to Cambodia to work as data entry operator and in a call center. They were given training for one and a half months. After the training, when they put pressure on working, the company locked all the youths in a small room. In the name of food, these youths were given only two pieces of bread.

The victims say that they were kept hungry for many days. When they protested against the company, the company sent them to jail with the help of local police. These people have appealed to PM Modi and Home Minister for return to their country. One of the hostage youths is from Chanawe village of Thawe block of Gopalganj, while some youths are from Siwan and some youths are from Kathkuiya in UP.
