In Purnia, more than 50 people fell sick after consuming Filaria medicine. The condition of three of them is very serious and they have been kept in Purnia GMCH for treatment. The incident is from Rahika village of Jalalgarh police station area of Purnia district. Where immediately after consuming the Filaria medicine and Albendazole medicine given by the health workers, one by one all the people started vomiting, having diarrhea and dizziness. After this, they were hurriedly brought to the Primary Health Center for treatment. Where, seeing the serious condition, half a dozen women were referred to Purnia GMCH. Where the condition of three women is very serious. Treatment is going on under the supervision of a doctor in the Trauma Center of GMCH.
Filaria medicine was distributed in Rahika village
Family members said that the Filaria eradication campaign in the district was started on August 10, i.e. Saturday. Under the campaign, Filaria medicine was distributed by Jalalgarh health workers in Rahika village of Jalalgarh police station area. In the evening, after consuming the Filaria medicine, more than 50 people started vomiting, having diarrhea and dizziness one by one. This created a stir in the village. After which people admitted them to Jalalgarh PHC for treatment. Where, seeing the serious condition, half a dozen people were referred to a higher center for better treatment. The rest of the treatment is going on in Jalalgarh PHC. The sick include Lakari Paswan, Ritu Devi, Sadan Lal Paswan, Kajal Kumari, Madhu Kumari, Jayamala Devi, Geeta Devi, Tetri Devi, Vibha Devi and others.
The doctor said- the patient has nothing to fear
On the other hand, WHO doctor Dilip Kumar said that the patient has nothing to fear. Dizziness can occur after consuming Albendazole and Filaria medicine. On hearing the news, a large number of people reached the Primary Health Center. On the other hand, Medical Officer in charge Tanveer Haider said that the patient’s condition is now out of danger. On hearing the news, hundreds of people including SDO Purnia, Circle Officer Sabihul Hasan, Block Pramukh Nikhil Kishore, former Pramukh Sadanand Jha, Mukhiya representative Raju Das, Anil Thakur, Sanjeev Singh Mustakim, Kameshwar Jamadar, Bharat Thakur, Kundan Kunal, Chandradeep Poddar reached there.
