Once again a married woman became a victim of dowry in Bihar’s Gaya district. Before the arrival of her parents, the in-laws cremated the married woman and all of them fled. After the complaint, the police started searching for the accused. This entire incident is of Kevti village under Atri police station area of Gaya district. According to the information received, Sangeeta Kumari, daughter of Arvind Yadav, resident of Bhagwatpur village under Islampur police station area of Nalanda district, who became a victim of dowry, was married to Sanjeet Yadav, the third son of Ramchandra Yadav, resident of Kevti village under Atri police station area, two and a half years ago. She also has a 16-month-old son.

In-laws informed about ill health
Just a few days after the marriage, Sangeeta used to complain that her parents were harassing her for dowry. Her in-laws used to say that she should bring one lakh rupees from her parents’ house or else they would kill her. In this regard, the deceased’s brother Rajneesh Kumar and family members said that on Wednesday evening at around 7.30 pm, her in-laws informed her about her ill health. When we reached my sister’s house late at night, we saw that the door of the house was open. There was no one in the house. My sister’s clothes and bangles were scattered all around the house.
The sister’s body was burned before we arrived
The family members alleged that the in-laws had burnt the body of the sister before we could reach. After that, the parents of the girl lodged a complaint against the in-laws in Atari police station for killing her by poisoning her. After the complaint, the police started investigating. The police of the police station said that during the investigation, it has come to light that the deceased had consumed poison. But the matter is being investigated. At present, all the members of the deceased’s in-laws have fled from the house. Raids are being conducted to arrest them.
