Mistake in government’s cycle scheme, accounts of many districts missing

After Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister, many schemes were started by the Bihar government. Special attention was given to women in particular. In this sequence, the Chief Minister’s Cycle Scheme was started in 2006. Under this, money was given by the state government to class 9 boys and girls to buy cycles. So that their studies are not interrupted and they can get convenience in going to school. But now there is apprehension of scam in the cycle scheme. The reason for the apprehension of scam is that the accounts of crores of rupees of this scheme from many districts are not in the government files.
Where and how is the allocation of these rupees
The allocation of funds for Bihar government’s cycle scheme is done by the education department through district administration and district education officers. But there are some districts where the account of about Rs 500 crore is missing from the file. The education department repeatedly sent letters to the officials asking for an account. But there are many districts which have not sent any account till now. That’s why now the education department has given an ultimatum to those districts to provide the accounts as soon as possible.
Details of cycle scheme sought in 10 days
This account is outstanding in nine districts of the state. Madhubani district is at the top in this, from where the account of more than Rs 52 crore is pending. Director of Secondary Education Sanjay Kumar has given instructions to the District Education Officers of all the districts regarding this. This matter is from 2012-13 to 2018-19.

Muzaffarpur: Rs 33 crore 57 lakh
West Champaran: Rs 27 crore 53 lakh 87 thousand 500
Samastipur: More than Rs 13 crore
Vaishali: Rs 9 crore
Madhubani: Rs 52 crore 68 lakh 77 thousand 500
Nawada: more than 3 crore 88 lakh
East Champaran: Rs 1 crore 89 lakh
Darbhanga: More than Rs 28 crore
Madhepura: Rs 6 lakh
outstanding in the financial year
2012-13: More than Rs 29 crore
2013-14 : Above Rs.3 lakh
2015-16: More than Rs 82 crore
2017-18: More than Rs 150 crore
2018-19: More than Rs 100 crore
Under the Mukhyamantri Cycle Yojana, earlier Rs 2000 was given to the students whereas now this amount has been increased to Rs 3000. The only purpose of this scheme run by the government was that children do not have to face any hindrance in coming to school from home and time is also saved.
