Motihari police arrested three human traffickers and freed five minor girls from the clutches of human trafficking. This arrest has been done in collaboration with Kailash Satyarthi Foundation, Child Line and Mukti Foundation from Turkaulia police station area of East Champaran. Four of the rescued girls are from Assam while one is from West Bengal. The arrested smugglers are residents of Bengal and Assam. The recovered girls told that these people lure them to Bihar in the name of getting them good jobs and work in orchestras. Then after making them work as a dancer in the orchestra, they were given only Rs 2000-2500. They also allege that in the off-season, these people forcefully get the business of prostitution done. On protesting, beatings are also done.

Kailash Satyarthi Foundation received information that some minor girls from West Bengal have been trafficked to Motihari. As soon as the information was received, Kailash Satyarthi Foundation, Mukti Foundation and Child Line started searching for those girls. As soon as the information was received during the investigation, taking the help of Tulkaulia police, a raid was conducted in Mahanawa village. In this raid those five minor girls were recovered. Four of those girls are from Assam while one girl is from West Bengal.

They have been identified as Musa Shaikh, a resident of Kantabari, Kamrukh Phata Silambari, Guwahati, Assam, Pavitra Rabha, a resident of Ganeshpuri, Dispur police station area, Kamrukh district, and Sushant Adhikari, a resident of 24 Parganas, Bara Sagar police station area, West Bengal.
