A law with many such provisions may possibly come into force someday. To ratify this law, the government is presenting the Bihar Crime Control Bill 2024 in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday. The government is far ahead of the majority, so there should be no hindrance in its passing.

Bihar government is going to give unlimited power to the District Magistrate

Through this law, criminals involved in land, sand, liquor and other criminal matters will be punished. Apart from this, those involved in human trafficking, prostitution, molestation, rioting and misuse of social media will also be curbed through this law. Now the District Magistrate will be able to take direct action against them. Bihar government is going to give them unlimited power for this. Not only this, the warrant issued by the District Magistrate will be applicable in the entire country including Bihar. The law enforcement officer will have the right to search and seize.

Police will be able to arrest suspicious person even without warrant

It has been provisioned in the Bihar Crime Control Bill, 2024 that the District Magistrate will have the power to issue warrants, arrest, send to jail and grant bail. They will have the authority to arrest any criminal from the district and state for six months. However, an appeal can be made before the Divisional Commissioner against the order of the District Magistrate. Bihar Police will now be able to arrest any suspicious person even without a warrant.
