Retired soldier dies in road accident

In Bhojpur district of Bihar, a speeding pickup crushed a retired army man riding a bike returning home from the market. He died on the spot in the accident. After the incident, the driver fled from the spot with the pickup. This incident took place on the Baruhi Bazaar Ara-Arwal main road in the city police station area. The deceased has been identified as Janeshwar Sao (70), son of late Bachchu Sao, resident of Bajreya village of city police station area. He retired as a constable from Danapur (Bihar Regiment) in 1987.
According to the information, after the incident the anger of the local villagers and the family members of the deceased flared up. After this, angry villagers and family members of the deceased took to the road carrying the dead body. After that, the dead body was placed in the middle of the road and the road was blocked in Baruhi Bazaar on Ara-Arwal main road, demanding compensation. Due to road blockage, long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road and traffic came to a complete standstill. Angry people blocked the road for about an hour.
Meanwhile, after receiving information about the road jam, city police station incharge Deepak Kumar and SI Anil Kumar reached the spot along with the police force. Then, after convincing the people and assuring them of compensation, the jam was removed. After this, the police took the body in their custody and got its post-mortem done in Sadar Hospital.
Here, regarding the incident, Rakesh Kumar, younger brother of the deceased, told that late on Thursday evening he had gone to Baruhi market from his village to market on bike. When he was returning home by bike after going to the market. At the same time, an uncontrolled pickup coming from behind crushed him in Baruhi Bazaar, due to which he died on the spot. After this, the local people informed their families about this. After receiving the information the family members immediately reached the spot. After that he informed this to the local police station.
