Gaya’s then absconding DSP Kamalakant Prasad has surrendered in the court of Judicial Magistrate of Gaya Court. The court has sent the accused DSP to jail. The accused DSP was accused of raping a minor girl. After the matter came to light, the then SP Harpreet Kaur had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on the absconding DSP. This case is of 2021 in which he was accused of raping a minor girl in the government quarter.

DSP Kamalakant Prasad, accused of minor rape, surrendered in the court of Judicial Magistrate of Gaya Court on Tuesday. The accused DSP was sent from Gaya Court to Gaya Central Jail under tight security.

The wife of the accused had supported the victim in getting justice.

In 2021, when Kamal Kant was posted as DSP in Gaya, he had committed a heinous act with a minor in his government quarter. At that time this matter was suppressed. But, as soon as he was transferred from Gaya to another place, this matter came to the fore. The wife of DSP Headquarters had come forward to get justice for the victim. The police had reached the headquarters and the Weaker Section Commission regarding the victim. After that, on the instructions of Police Headquarters and Weaker Section Commission, FIR was registered under 18/2021 against DSP Headquarters Kamalakant Prasad in Gaya Mahila Police Station. After that, Senior DSP Kamalakant Prasad, accused of raping a minor, was suspended by the Home Department of Bihar Government.

SSP had announced the reward

Following the recommendation of the Police Headquarters, the Home Department had approved the action of his suspension. However, after that the Gaya police continued to raid for the arrest of the accused DSP Kamalakant Prasad. Even after continuous raids, the accused DSP could not be found by the police. Then the then SSP Harpreet Kaur announced a reward of five thousand rupees on the accused DSP Kamalakatan Prasad. Due to police raid, the accused DSP finally surrendered in Gaya Court on Tuesday, where the police took the accused DSP to Gaya Central Jail.
