In Bettiah, fearless criminals riddled the Mukhiya with bullets, due to which he died on the spot. The incident took place near the railway crossing in Banuchhappar police station area. The deceased was former Mukhiya Jitendra Singh, a resident of Paras Pakri village of Mahna Gani Panchayat. The criminals shot him 19 times. However, the local people immediately admitted the former Mukhiya to GMCH Bettiah for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead.
6-7 armed criminals carried out the incident
Regarding the incident, local people say that Jitendra Singh was going to his home Banuchhapar from Bettiah. His old house is in Paras Pakdi village of Mahna Gani Panchayat. However, he has also built his house in Banuchhapar. Then the criminals who were already ambushed stopped his bike near the railway gate and pointed a gun at his temple. Jitendra Singh left his bike and started running, but the criminals ran after him. Jitendra Singh kept running and the criminals kept firing at him from behind. In this way, the criminals riddled him with bullets near the railway gate. However, the deceased kept running for some distance and kept pleading people to save him. Meanwhile, a person passing by saw him and informed the police about the incident, but by then he had died at the spot itself. The criminals shot nineteen bullets at the Mukhiya, due to which there is a sensation in the area.
Two years ago, the son was also attacked
The deceased Jitendra Singh has been the head of Mahna Gani Panchayat twice in the past. His bus also runs in Bettiah bus stand. He also used to do contracting. About two years ago, his son was also seriously injured by criminals by stabbing him with a knife over a tender. Now the police is investigating the matter. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Bettiah SP Amarkesh D reached the spot. Sadar SDPO Vivek Deep, Mufassil SHO Abhiram Singh, Banuchhappar SHO Santosh Kumar, Technical Cell Incharge Jwala Singh and police from many police stations also reached the spot. Forensic team has also reached the spot, which is investigating the matter. Regarding the incident, Sadar SDPO Vivek Deep said that former head of Mahna Gani Panchayat Jitendra Singh died due to bullet injury. Police is investigating the matter. Family members and relatives refused to conduct post-mortem
After the body reached the hospital on Monday night, the family and relatives of the deceased refused to get the postmortem done. They said that first the criminals should be arrested and then the postmortem will be done. However, after being convinced by SDPO Vivek Deep, the family got the postmortem done. A large number of people gathered in the hospital premises till 2:00 in the night. The family said that before this, Jitendra’s son was also attacked with a knife. If the police had taken action, we would not have to see this day. After the incident, the family was angry against the police administration.
