In Darbhanga, criminals killed the son of a textile businessman and threw the body in a pit. The incident took place in Singhwara Nagar Panchayat of Singhwara police station area. The deceased has been identified as Manish Kumar, 25, son of Durga Prasad Gupta.

Regarding the incident, the deceased’s brother Vikas Kumar said in his statement to the police that on October 13, at around 8 pm, my brother had come home after marketing the shop. After that he also did shopkeeping for some time. After this he went home and had dinner. After having dinner, around 12.30 in the night, a call came on Manish’s mobile. Without telling anything to anyone, he left the house with the bike. When he did not return home till morning, his family members started calling him, but his mobile was switched off. After this, all the nearby relatives were also searched, but no trace of him could be found. After this someone informed that the dead body of a young man was found in a pond located in Chamanpur Chaur. On receiving the information, everyone went there, but his face was so disfigured that he could not be identified. Then the brother was identified on the basis of his pants and shirt. The face of the deceased was brutally attacked by the criminal. His bike was also recovered at some distance from the spot.

In this regard, Kamtaul’s DSP Jyoti Rani said that the deceased was missing since the night of 13 October. The family members were continuously searching for him. Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon, after receiving information about a dead body being dumped in a pit in Kaligaon area, the family members went there and found him identified by the pants and shirt he was wearing. The killers had completely disfigured his face, so that the body could not be identified. At present the body has been sent to DMCH for post-mortem. Investigation is going on at all points. The matter will be resolved soon.
