Under the charges, Khesari Lal Yadav has been charged under Section 406 of the Indian Penal Code and 138 of the NI Act. The case is related to an FIR lodged on 16 August 2019, in which Mrityunjay Nath Pandey, a resident of Ashani village, had alleged that a deal was struck with Khesari Lal Yadav’s wife Chanda Devi for the sale of land for Rs 22 lakh 7 thousand. Under the deal, Khesari Lal gave a cheque of Rs 18 lakh, which bounced.

The police filed a chargesheet in this case on 22 August 2020. A non-bailable warrant was issued on 25 February 2021. But Khesari Lal Yadav did not appear in court. But after today’s chargesheet, both the parties have reached a mutual settlement and the settlement letter has been filed in the court. A decision will be taken on this settlement letter on 30 September.

Khesari Lal Yadav’s lawyer Biresh Kumar Chaubey said that the cheque bounce case was due to stop payment. Currently, a settlement has been reached between the two parties regarding the case.
